A New Trade Union is Being Established in the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan: The Trade Union of Workers Abroad
The Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan (FTUK) announces the creation of a new industry committee that will protect the rights of Kyrgyz citizens working outside the country.
This step reflects the Federation’s commitment to supporting labor migrants, who make a significant contribution to Kyrgyzstan’s economy, and to ensuring the protection of their labor and social rights.
Constituent Congress of the Trade Union of Workers Abroad
On November 20, 2024, the first constituent congress of the Trade Union of Workers Abroad was held in the FTUK conference hall.
The congress was attended by:
- FTUK Chairman Muradil Dzhumadilde uulu
- Representatives of the International Organization for Migration
- The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic
- Representatives of private employment agencies
- International and public associations
- Experts and migrants
The Importance of the New Trade Union
Welcoming the congress participants, Muradil Dzhumadilde uulu noted that hundreds of thousands of Kyrgyz citizens work abroad and face various difficulties, such as:
- Violations of labor rights
- Legal insecurity
- Social problems

The creation of this trade union is our response to their needs and the challenges they face on a daily basis. We will do everything possible to protect their labor rights and respond effectively to every case concerning a labor migrant.”

For six months, FTUK has been working to establish partnerships with trade unions from other countries, particularly those with the highest number of Kyrgyz labor migrants.
Discussion and Election of Leadership
During the congress:
- Representatives of private employment agencies asked questions about the activities and possibilities of the newly forming committee.
- Suggestions were made for protecting the labor rights of Kyrgyz citizens based on real-life cases.
- The new Statute of the Trade Union of Workers Abroad was approved.
- Bakyt Usupbekov was elected as chairman of the Trade Union of Workers Abroad.
