Trade Union of Aviation Industry Workers and State Enterprises of the Kyrgyz Republic

History of the Committee’s Formation:
In 1952, the Kyrgyz United Aviation Detachment was transformed into the Kyrgyz Aviation Group of the Civil Air Fleet of the USSR. Aitbaev Abildy Karimovich was elected Chairman of the Group Committee of the Aviation Workers’ Trade Union.
In 1966, the Kyrgyz Aviation Group was reorganized into the Kyrgyz Civil Aviation Administration, and the Group Committee was accordingly transformed on June 6, 1967, into the Republican Committee of the Professional Union of Aviation Workers of the Kyrgyz SSR.
At the time of the trade union’s establishment, it included workers from specialized aviation, air ambulance services, scientific research and educational institutions of aviation organizations, and several other aviation-related fields.
The more than 55-year history of the Aviation Workers’ Trade Union is inextricably linked with the stages of the country’s development, the growth of its air fleet, and the expansion of hydrometeorological and aeronautical services.
Today, the Aviation Workers’ Trade Union is the largest sectoral trade union in air transport, bringing together nearly 5,500 union members, including employees of all professions within civil aviation, Kyrgyzhydromet, aviation organizations, and regional representative offices. The union comprises nine primary trade union organizations.
