A significant event aimed at strengthening international cooperation in labor relations and the protection of workers’ rights has taken place. The Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan (FTUK), Muradil Zhumadilde uulu, and Sergejus Glovackas, Head of the Europe and Central Asia Sector of the ILO Bureau for Workers’ Activities, signed a joint action plan between the two organizations.
The document outlines a series of initiatives designed to develop social and labor relations in Kyrgyzstan, strengthen the protection of workers’ rights, promote the principles of decent work, and bolster the role of trade unions in society.
FTUK Chairman Muradil Zhumadilde uulu noted that the agreement opens new opportunities for the development of the trade union movement in the country. “Cooperation with the ILO is of paramount importance to us. This action plan will help strengthen mechanisms for protecting labor rights in Kyrgyzstan, expand the capacity of trade unions, and introduce international best practices,” he emphasized.
According to him, these joint initiatives will contribute to social justice and increase the level of protection for employees.
In turn, Sergejus Glovackas highlighted the importance of the partnership with Kyrgyzstan and expressed readiness for continued active cooperation. “We highly value our cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. The signed plan is aimed at promoting the principles of decent work, developing social dialogue, and supporting the sustainable development of the country’s labor market,” he noted.
The parties also discussed current issues in labor relations, the role of trade unions in modern society, and prospects for further cooperation. The plan includes the exchange of international expertise, training programs and seminars, capacity building for trade union organizations, and supporting social dialogue between the government, employers, and employees.
