At the seminar-consultation, Muradil Dzhumadilde uulu, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan (FTUK), spoke about the reforms underway in the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan with the General Confederation of Trade Unions.
The event took place today, October 21, in Moscow, with the participation of the heads of member organizations of GCTU.
The seminar was opened by the General Secretary of GCTU, Viktor Pinsky. He welcomed all participants and presented a report on participation in the XIII BRICS Trade Union Forum.
Importance of International Cooperation
Speaking at the seminar, the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan emphasized the importance of international cooperation among trade unions to protect the interests of workers in the face of global challenges and thanked the organizers for the invitation.
Structural Reforms in FTUK
“I would like to share the key results of our activities over the past 9 months of this year. Important structural changes have taken place in FTUK. As a result of optimization, the number of FTUK member organizations was reduced from 26 to 17. This was an important step to improve the efficiency of our work.”
Success in Legal Protection
One of the most significant aspects of our activities has been our success in legal disputes.
- The legal department of FTUK has successfully defended the rights of workers in several court cases.
- A number of illegally sold trade union real estate assets were recovered and returned to the ownership of the trade unions.
Digitalization of Trade Union Activities
As part of our digitalization program, several key projects have been launched:
- Hotline 1229 activated, allowing workers to call 24/7 and receive free consultation.
- Online consultation system implemented, simplifying the process of providing free legal support.
- Electronic document management system introduced.
- Online registration of trade union members launched, reducing bureaucratic procedures and increasing transparency.
Social Projects and Support for Trade Union Members
One of the social projects that deserves attention is the discount program for trade union members.
“This initiative provided our members with the opportunity to receive discounts and benefits on various goods and services,” noted Muradil Dzhumadilde uulu.
Training and Methodological Center Activities
In his speech, the FTUK Chairman also discussed the activities of the Training and Methodological Center of the Federation, where from January to October 2024, the TMC organized:
- A series of training events
- Reaching more than 670 activists from various trade union organizations across the country
Strengthening Cooperation with the International Labour Organization
In addition, he highlighted:
- The strengthening and resumption of close cooperation with the International Labour Organization.
- Trade unions initiating the ratification of several ILO Conventions to protect the rights of workers in the face of global changes in the labor market.
- The work of the Youth Council and support of projects aimed at:
- Improving the qualifications of young personnel
- Developing “green” jobs
- Advancing the green economy

In conclusion, Muradil Dzhumadilde uulu emphasized that extensive work has been carried out over the past 9 months to reform the trade union movement.
He expressed confidence that the results achieved attest to the correctness of the chosen course and that the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan will continue to work for the benefit of the country’s workers.
