A balneo-mud climatic resort sanatorium
Located in the Jalal-Abad Region, 5 km from Jalal-Abad, it is situated at an altitude of 975 meters above sea level. The sanatorium accommodates 450 guests in the summer and 150 in the winter, with lodging provided in three buildings and four small houses offering 2- to 3-bed rooms. The climate is continental with mild winters.
The main natural therapeutic factors, alongside the mild climate, are mineral waters and medicinal muds. The current recreational facilities were built between 1954 and 1968. For drinking therapy, the “Kyz-Bulak” spring is used, while for other water procedures, the “Jany-Bulak” and “Ak-Bulak” springs are utilized. Jalal-Abad mineral waters are thermal, nitrogenous, weakly mineralized, chloride-hydrocarbonate-sulfate, and magnesium-calcium-sodium in composition, slightly alkaline with an elevated content of silicic acid (30–35 mg/l), and they also contain many types of microelements.
Local peat-silt muds are also used for treatment. The resort features a water-mud treatment center equipped with 20 bathtubs and 24 treatment tables. Patients undergo mineral baths, therapeutic showers, and mud treatments. A therapeutic pool operates year-round, and there are medical diagnostic offices and laboratories. In addition to balneo-mud therapy, treatments include electro-light therapy, therapeutic physical exercises, massage, climatotherapy, and therapeutic nutrition.
Patients are accommodated in three buildings and four small houses, with sleeping areas designed for 2–3 or 4 persons per room. The sanatorium, which has been in operation since 1920 and accommodates 347 people, treats patients suffering from digestive disorders, gynecological, urogenital, nervous system, and musculoskeletal diseases.
On its premises, the sanatorium includes four sleeping buildings, two three-story cottages, seven small houses, a dining hall, a polyclinic, a water-mud treatment center, a therapeutic swimming pool, a freshwater intake with storage tanks, as well as various technical and utility structures. Patients with gastrointestinal disorders, musculoskeletal conditions, kidney and urinary tract diseases, gynecological, urological, skin, and allergic conditions are treated here.
