Professional Union of Transport and Road Management Workers of Kyrgyzstan

The Trade Union of Automotive Transport Workers was established in 1929 and was initially called the “Union of Drivers of the ‘Vostok.’”
On May 16, 1953, the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Automotive Transport Workers and Employees merged with the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Highway and Hydrotechnical Construction Workers and Employees. It was then named the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Automotive Transport and Highway Workers.
By resolution of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions (ACCTU) dated August 19, 1957 (Protocol No. 16, Section 6), the Trade Union of Automotive Transport and Highway Workers merged with the Trade Union of Communication Workers.
On January 16, 1968, at the 11th Congress of the Communication Workers’ Trade Union, a resolution was adopted to divide it into two trade unions: the Communication Workers’ Trade Union and the Workers’ Trade Union.
At the First Congress on September 6, 1990, the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Automotive Transport and Highway Workers was renamed the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Automotive Transport and Road Management Workers.
Within its structure, the sectoral trade union had oblast-level committees (Obkoms) of the Osh, Issyk-Kul, and Talas oblasts, as well as consolidated committees of Production and Line Directorates No. 1, 3, 6, the Northern Production Association, “Sevdortransstroy,” and “Chuydortransstroy.” The union’s membership exceeded 60,000 people.
At the Second Congress of the sectoral trade union held on September 8, 1995, the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Automotive Transport and Road Management Workers was renamed the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Transport and Road Management Workers of Kyrgyzstan.
It is a member organization of the International Association of Transport and Road Management Workers’ Trade Unions of the CIS.
For more than 30 years, from 1986 to 2017, the Chairperson of the Central Committee of the Trade Union was repeatedly elected to be Isakov Abdykasy Isakovich.
For his many years of productive work, Isakov Abdykasy Isakovich has received numerous national awards. He holds the title of Honored Transport Worker of the Kyrgyz Republic, has been awarded a Certificate and an Honorary Certificate of the Supreme Soviet of the Kirghiz SSR, two “For Valiant Labor” medals, a commemorative medal “1000 Years of the Epic Manas,” the “Dank” medal, an Honorary Certificate of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, and badges of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan “For Merit to the Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan,” as well as the Honorary Silver Badge of the All-Union Communist Party “For Merit to the Trade Union Movement.”
Currently, the sectoral trade union’s structure includes the Osh Oblast Committee of the Trade Union of Transport and Road Management Workers. In the Naryn, Talas, Issyk-Kul, and Jalal-Abad oblasts, it has oblast councils of trade union committee chairpersons.
