The voice of Kyrgyzstan’s workers was heard from a high-level international platform. Muradil Dzhumadilde uulu, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan, addressed the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference, one of the world’s most authoritative forums on labour issues, social justice, and the protection of workers’ rights.
This address marked an important milestone not only for the country’s trade union movement but also for Kyrgyzstan as a whole. From this distinguished international platform, the concerns, expectations, challenges, and proposals of the workers of our republic were presented, highlighting the need to shape a fair future of work amid the rapid digitalization of the economy.
In his speech, Muradil Dzhumadilde uulu drew the attention of conference participants to the importance of ensuring decent work in the platform economy. He emphasized that technological progress and digital innovation must be accompanied by stronger social guarantees and effective protection of workers’ labour rights.
Particular attention was given to issues of social protection for workers, the development of international labour standards, transparency in algorithmic management of work, and the expansion of social dialogue within the digital economy. He also highlighted the need to develop a unified international definition of the concept of “platform employment,” which would enable more effective protection of workers’ rights worldwide.
The Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan noted that Kyrgyzstan is already taking concrete steps to adapt its labour legislation to modern realities by introducing digital tools in labour relations and creating a legal framework for new forms of employment.
The speech delivered by the Kyrgyz trade union delegation at the International Labour Organization platform reaffirmed that Kyrgyzstan is actively engaged in the international dialogue on labour issues and is ready to contribute to building a fair, inclusive, and sustainable future for millions of workers around the world.
