In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Conducting an Inventory of the Legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic” dated February 8, 2021 No. 26, FTUK specialists and social partners participated in efforts to improve labor legislation, develop laws, and review draft laws on socio‑labor issues.
Representatives of FTUK prepared and submitted additions and amendments to the state bodies in the Laws of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Occupational Safety”, “On Social Partnership in the Field of Labor Relations”, “On Collective Agreements”, “On Assistance to Employment of the Population”, “On Guarantees and Compensation for Those Living and Working in High-Altitude and Remote Areas”, among others.
By addressing the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, FTUK succeeded in introducing additions and amendments to certain legislative acts and in restoring most of the legal norms from which provisions were removed that imposed liability on employers and officials for violations of workers’ labor rights and the country’s Labor Legislation.
FTUK places special emphasis on the legal protection of workers, using a variety of forms and methods within the legal framework.
Analysis shows that, in most cases, citizens seek help with issues such as unjustified dismissals, delays in final settlements, failure to provide labor leave or non-payment of monetary compensation, the use of short-term labor contracts for permanent positions, transferring an employee to another job without their consent, hiring without an employment contract, and other related matters.
